Terilyn holds a doctorate in Communication Studies and specializes in relational communication. She is Myers-Briggs qualified and has specialized training in conflict mediation. Terilyn's career has been wide and varied. She has served as professor and chair at a local university, while at the same time pursuing her motivational speaking, training, and recording. While in the academy, Terilyn received a Professor of the Year award, as well as The Outstanding Professor Award from The National Speaker's Association. She has recorded 5 CDs, to include her most recent, featuring her original tunes. She is a published author and is now speaking, training, and entertaining for a variety of institutions. Her audiences range from police officers to librarians to college students to teachers to women's groups to... you name it!
Terilyn is an amazingly versatile communicator, able to adapt her talents, knowledge, and abilities to any audience, no matter how diverse. She has a way of reaching beyond audience limitations and meeting people where they are by creating a climate of non-judgmental acceptance. As a friend of hers (Joanne) once said, "Terilyn comforts the comfortless and uncomforts the comfortable." Perhaps more than anything, Terilyn is known for her ability to push people to meet their potential, to experience the positive aspects of life and seize the opportunity fo live life to its fullest. She serves as a life coach to her audience members, creating in them a desire to break through barriers and make a difference in the lives of others. One of her students (Trisha) said...
